Types of airlines in Thailand
There are seven domestic carriers operating in Thailand: two full-service carriers and five low-cost carriers.

Full-service carriers
Thai Airways (TG) is the national flag carrier airline of Thailand operating domestic flights from Bangkok to most of the airports in the country, as well as international flights to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

Bangkok Airways (PG) is a Thai full-service airline operating domestic flights from Bangkok to a selected number of airports in the country, as well as international flights to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and China.

Low-cost carriers
Thai Smile (WE) is a Thai low-cost airline subsidiary of Thai Airways operating domestic flights from Bangkok to most of the airports in the country, as well as international flights to Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Taiwan.

Nok Air (DD) is a Thai low-cost airline operating domestic flights from Bangkok to most of the airports in the country, as well as international flights to Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia and Singapore.

Thai AirAsia (FD) is a Thai low-cost airline affiliate of AirAsia Group operating domestic flights from Bangkok to most of the airports in the country, as well as international flights to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and China.

Thai Lion Air (SL) is a Thai low-cost airline affiliate of Lion Air Group operating domestic flights from Bangkok to a limited number of airports in the country, as well as international flights to Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore and China.

Thai VietJet Air (VZ) is a Thai low-cost airline associate of VietJet Air operating domestic flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Pattaya, Krabi and Phuket, as well as international flights to Vietnam.

Getting around Thailand by plane
Thailand has 33 commercial airports.The four major international airports are Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang Airport serving Bangkok, Chiang Mai Airport and Phuket Airport. Other international airports include Chiang Rai Airport, Udon Thani Airport, U-Tapao–Rayong–Pattaya Airport, Samui Airport, Surat Thani Airport, Krabi Airport and Hat Yai Airport.

Northern Thailand
Northern Thailand comprises the provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phayao, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Kamphaeng Phet, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan and Uthai Thani.
Northern Mountains
Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are three mountainous provinces in Northern Thailand bordering Myanmar and Laos. The temperature is cooler than the rest of the country and the landscape offer stunning views of picturesque towns lying at the foot of the mountains. The Northeastern region, known as Isan, is the biggest region in Thailand and is home to one-third of Thailand's population. International flights to Phuket

- 1. Effective 1 Apr 2021, passengers are not allowed to enter Thailand, with exceptions for nationals of Thailand, passengers who are spouses, parents or children of nationals of Thailand, residents of Thailand, passengers with a diplomatic or official passport, passengers who are visa exempt, passengers with a visa issued by Thailand, nationals who are permitted to enter Thailand under a special arrangement with a foreign country, students, passengers in transit through Thailand.
- 2. Passengers must have a Certificate of Entry (COE) issued by coethailand.mfa.go.th.
- 3. Passengers must have a medical certificate in English language issued by competent health authorities no more than 72 hours prior to the date of travel certifying a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, with exceptions for nationals of Thailand.
- 4. Passengers must have proof of insurance policy to cover medical expenses including COVID-19 (not less than 100,000 USD), with exceptions for nationals of Thailand.
- 5. Passengers will be required a medical declaration and are subject to medical screening, test for COVID-19 and quarantine depending on the duration of the stay.
Quarantine period
- 1. Travellers who have completed the vaccination of the following vaccines: Pfizer BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Serum Institute of India, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac, SK Bioscience AstraZeneca, Moderna, and hold the original vaccination certificate or a printed online vaccinated certificate are required to undergo 7-day quarantine and be tested for COVID-19 twice during the quarantine period.
- 2. Travellers who have not received the vaccine or have received other vaccines are required to undergo 10-day quarantine and be tested for COVID-19 twice during the quarantine period.

How to use the flight e-ticket
The electronic ticket is valid to collect the boarding pass at the check-in counter in the airport. It cannot be used to board the plane. Passengers must follow the instructions contained in the e-ticket and print a physical copy in advance or carry a digital copy in the mobile phone or tablet to present it during check-in.
