GETTING AROUND VIETNAM BY PLANE
Vietnam has 23 commercial airports.
The three major international airports are Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi serving Northern Vietnam, Da Nang Airport serving Central Vietnam and Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh serving Southern Vietnam.
Other important regional airports are Cat Bi Airport in Hai Phong, Cam Ranh Airport in Nha Trang, Lien Khuong Airport in Da Lat, Can Tho Airport serving the Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc Airport serving the island of Phu Quoc.
There are four domestic carriers operating in Vietnam, two full-service carriers: Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways, and two low-cost carriers: Pacific Airlines and VietJet Air.

GETTING AROUND VIETNAM BY TRAIN
Vietnam has 2,600 kilometres of railway network, which consist of the main line North–South connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, and the secondary lines Hanoi–Lao Cai, Hanoi–Dong Dang, Hanoi–Hai Phong in the North, and Saigon–Phan Thiet in the South.
In the present, trains transiting the Vietnamese railway network are pulled by diesel locomotives circulating at 60 to 80 km/h speed carrying passenger cars operated by Vietnam Railways and private railway companies.
The major railway stations are Hanoi Station serving Northern Vietnam, Hue Station and Da Nang Station serving Central Vietnam, and Saigon Station in Ho Chi Minh serving Southern Vietnam.
The railway network in Vietnam is operated by the state-owned company Vietnam Railways.
Additionally, the private railway companies Chapa Express, Damitrans Express, Laman Express, Lotus Train and Sapaly Express operate their own passenger cars on the trains departing from Hanoi bound for Lao Cai and the trains departing from Hanoi bound for Dong Hoi, Hue and Da Nang.
The private railway companies New Livitrans Express and Violette Trains manage their own compartments in standard passenger cars operated by Vietnam Railways on the trains departing from Hanoi bound for Lao Cai, the trains departing from Hanoi bound for Dong Hoi, Hue and Da Nang, and the trains departing from Ho Chi Minh bound for Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hue.

GETTING AROUND VIETNAM BY BUS
Travelling by bus in Vietnam is an affordable way to reach the popular tourist destinations out of the railway network or inaccessible by plane.
Seated buses and sleeper buses generally cover long distances during daytime or overnight and connect two or more cities in different provinces.
Minivans generally cover short distances during daytime and connect cities in the same province or neighbor provinces.
The major bus stations are My Dinh Bus Station in Hanoi, Hue South Bus Station, Da Nang Central Bus Station, Da Lat Interprovince Bus Station, Nha Trang South Bus Station and Mien Tay Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh.
Road transportation in Vietnam is carried out by three types of vehicles: seated buses, sleeper buses and minivans.
The bus companies Inter Bus Line, Sao Viet, Sapa Express, Bang Phan, Eco Sapa, Good Morning Cat Ba, Duc Duong Bus, Trung Thanh Limousine, Trang An Limousine, The Long Travel and Futa Bus operate modern fleets of vehicles equipped with air-conditioning, seats or berths, and on-board amenities.
